Elections Canada 2019

What Are The Issues ?

The Number One Issue That Concerns Everyone :

Most Retired or Unemployed Canadians Have No Security

Canada’s Elderly Have Been Screwed By Politicians For Decades, And The Young Will Face The Same Problem Since They Are Getting Older And Not Younger

Canada Chronicle

In fact, it’s now obvious to most young Canadians that they won’t even have the security their parents may have enjoyed due to exorbitant rents and housing prices. Only overseas millionaires can afford to buy a house in Vancouver, Toronto and other big cities. This is due to reckless and highly irresponsible immigration and real estate policies by politicians who turned Canada into a casino for overseas millionaires.

30 Years Ago Old Age Pension & Security Paid For All Necessities. Not Any Longer

Regardless of the several components that make up this issue such as the high cost of living, rents and high housing prices, etc, the fact is that Canada lags behind most western countries and even several third world countries with respect to providing security for its people. Canadians who have worked for 30 or 40 years have no security unless they have retired from a rich company with a rich pension plan. These people have to keep working somehow until they die, or move to another country where their meager old age income goes much farther, like Mexico or Indonesia. For most average people the Canada Pension plan pays a ridiculous couple of hundred dollars that will barely pay for the telephone bill. The old age security payments that kick in at age 65 used to provide a comfortable security 30-40 years ago, but today it may not even pay for the rent of a 1-bedroom apartment in Vancouver or Toronto, or any metropolitan centre for that matter, since payments have lagged behind the actual cost of living. Politicians and the government have been lying about the rate of inflation and the real cost of living for decades. You may often hear from politicians that payments are indexed to inflation, which means that the rate of inflation and its relation to the cost of living was another lie.

Just consider the fact that a 1-bedroom apartment renting for $300 thirty years ago now rents for $1600 if it was under “rent control”, or $2500-$3000 in the open market whereas pensions and old age security have barely changed. The number of homeless on the street attests to the fact that this country can no longer provide basic shelter and food to the needy. For all intents and purposes Canada lags behind Europe and even the United States in providing basic necessities to its people.
